Truck World 2016

I have attended Truck world the last couple times it has been in Toronto, I always enjoy seeing new innovations and meeting industry leaders. This year was no different, I had great conversation with a leader in DPF (diesel particulate filter) technology and how they are setting out to educate companies and drivers on the misconceptions they face. I got to see a new product that replaces the traditional trailer king pin and helps reduce overall operating costs due to its “friction-less” design as well as Volvo’s new “turbo compound” system, I could go on forever, but wont.

One of the coolest innovations at the show was supplied by Lincoln welding – They have a virtual reality training aid for MIG welding. The equipment, work bench, and even the material feel as real as it gets but no actual welding happens. when you pull the trigger, the screen shows your weld bead, in real time, fusing the steel together. The welding helmet is fitted with a screen inside showing the work in front of you as if it were real, minus the burns, Bonus!

Text is boring, on to the pictures!

As usual, I would love to hear your feedback!
